Mount & Blade: Warband's best mods and where to get them There's a tonne of mods for Mount & Blade: Warband, from total conversion to simpler fare that makes the game prettier, and that's what we're here for today. The sequel, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlords, still doesn't have a confirmed release date but we do know that developer TaleWorlds will share its tools to keep the modding community alive. Mount & Blade: Warband is the standalone expansion for Mount & Blade that released on Steam back in 2010 and made its console debut at the end of last year, and a huge modding community has built up around it. That's not altogether easy without a lot of custom scripting and custom scenes.Waiting for Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlords? Stop twiddling your thumbs and give some of these Warband mods a whirl. So, any quests would have to be done in such a way as to be able to be completed no matter what the current state of the game was. Towns and castles change owners, factions go to war, sue for peace, etc. The game, after all, is playing "itself" while the player plays, so things change. I imagine multi-line quests would somewhat difficult to do, especially long drawn-out ones. (ie: Gaining honor/money/improving economics of a town, etc.) Also, they further the player's ambitions/goals, even though they're not directly related to them. Most quests are single-mission, non-progressive quests, there to give the player some added immersion and some things to base a sense of achievement on, as necessary. M&B:Warband is a sandbox game and there are few "rails" in it.
It's a mod that has been around for awhile and is fairly polished, if that helps. It's very well done in this respect.) There's one other fantasy total conversion that has a long quest chain in it, but I can't remember the name at the moment. A Clash of Kings (Game of thrones total conversion) has several multi-quest lines in it and has a number of "unlockables" as a result.
IIRC, Prophecy of Pendor has several long quests in it. The main thing that was a story.Īs was said above, "Light and Darkness" is often suggested when "storyline" mods come up.
